How to select the right combination of eScan and MailScan for you.
MailScan is the total content security and traffic scanning software for mail servers that checks the content in emails and its attachments for viruses and other online threats.
There are several MailScan versions, each designed to work with different mail servers, etc. In each case the MailScan product scans and cleans emails. It does not scan the local hard disk or protect the server on which it is installed.
To protect your mail server machine, you need eScan Corporate Edition for MailScan. This will sit on your mail server with MailScan and protect the server from viruses and worms. eScan Corporate for MailScan can only be installed on machines which already have MailScan installed.
If you want to protect your entire network of servers and workstations, consider eScan Corporate Edition or eScan Enterprise Edition. Both include a complimentary license of eScan Corporate for MailScan (as a separate setup file) to protect your mail server.
