eScan Corporate 2006 for MailScan is designed to work with MailScan and can be installed only on machines which already have MailScan installed. For normal workstations and servers, you need to install the regular eScan Corporate.

The Checkmark certification comes from West Coast Labs. They have a virus library with many thousands of different viruses and variants, collected through a bespoke harvesting process.
For a product to be certified to Anti-Virus Checkmark, Level One the product must be able to detect all those viruses which are "In the Wild". This gives a clear and independent indication to end users of those anti-virus products that they can be relied on to perforn to Level One functionality.

The UK-based Virus Bulletin organisation is highly regarded by the antivirus user community as the leading industry body, delivering an annual conference, a scientific journal, and independent antivirus product testing.
The testing is primarily to determine how effective products are at detecting viruses and all products submitted are set against the same viruses on the same test equipment. Vendors are not charged to have their products tested.
