Every interactive whiteboard comes with its own drivers and software included in the price. For example, the Cambridge Interactive Whiteboard comes with the easy-to-use StarBoard suite. To see what it can do, go to: Cambridge Interactive Whiteboad: An Overview. You will find information on the software at the foot of the page.
Additional software will enhance your lesson or presentation.
You will find that you will use a mixture of different types of software. Some may be specifically designed to be used with an interactive whiteboard. This link will show you some of the range of interacive software that we currently offer: Interactive Software.
You may already have a collection of interactive software that you have used on individual computers. Try them with your interactive whiteboard. You may find most of them are as much at home with an interactive whiteboard as they are with a computer. After all, an interactive whiteboard operates in many ways as a large touch-screen monitor.
Other software may not have been designed to be used with an interactive whiteboard in mind but may prove to be excellent tools. For example, you may during a geography lesson display maps from the internet, annotate them, save them, print them and distribute them to your audience. And what were you using? Your internet browser (usually free).
Or during a conference you can display on the whiteboard the new products or designs using the CAD program on your computer. Or last quarter's sales using Microsoft PowerPoint.
For classroom education you can exchange and download lessons and materials from: Teacher Resource Exchange or Interactive Whiteboard Resources.
