Automatic compression and decompression of attachments eScan automatically compresses and decompresses outgoing and incoming attachments. This saves you valuable bandwidth. A range of options allows you to select the level of compression, minimum size of attachment for automatic compression, etc. You can also specify attachment types that are excluded from auto compression. The feature is found in eScan Content Administrator > Email Attachment Control

Attachments that end with a Class ID file extension do not show the actual file extension in Internet Explorer. This allows dangerous file types to look harmless. eScan allows emails with such extensions to be automatically deleted. HTML emails can be used to transmit virus through embedded scripts. eScan provides a list of such script tags. You can if you wish add other dangerous script names to the list. All email's with such tags are automatically deleted. This feature is found in eScan Content Administrator > email Attachment Control > Advanced > IE Vulnerabilities-I

Supports inclusion of email disclaimers eScan allows you to automatically send customised disclaimers with outgoing and incoming emails. You can specify email IDs to which they are sent.

Auto backup of emails and attachments eScan allows you to backup all emails and attachments, sent or received, into a directory. This feature allows you to find who is sending what. You can also specify attachment types that should be excluded from being archived. This feature is found in eScan Content Administrator > email Attachment Control > Advanced > Archival

eScan allows you to plug some types of vulnerabilities (delete files with Class ID extensions, HTML with scripts, script tags, for example). While some harmless files have double extensions (compressed files such as pdf.zip, for example), some virus-infected files also have multiple extensions (.doc.exe for example). eScan allows you to specify actions for such files. This feature is found in eScan Content Administrator > email Attachment Control > Advanced > IE Vulnerabilities-I and IE Vulnerabilities-II

You get to see the default Quarantine Folder Path. The Quarantine File Types allows you to add email file types such as .eml, .msg, .mes that should be quarantined. The Show Attachments checkbox shows the spam attachments. You can run tasks like Refresh, Stop, Properties, Delete and message source. Details of spam emails (such as From, To, CC, Subject, Received, Size (Kb), Attachments and File Name) are displayed.
