Just its lack of Publisher should be sufficent for you to go for the Professional Edition.

It runs on Windows 7, as well as Windows XP and Windows Vista. It also runs on Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008. If you are looking for a Windows 2010 Office, this is the edition to choose. Unfortunately there is no comparable Microsoft Office 2011 for the Mac that we can sell at a discount.

Ms Office 2010 Professional is available in 32-bit and 64-bit versions. You don't have to choose when you buy. You simply choose when you download from the secure Microsoft website. What is more, if you, say, download the 32-bit version and decide later to try the 64-bit version, you can go back and download that one and install it. And if, later still, you yearn for the 32-bit version, simply return to the secure Microsoft website and download it.

You can install it on two computers, so long as they are used primarily by one user. Brief history of Office 2010

Microsoft Office 2010 was due to arrive in 2009, but didn't make it. If it had, it would have been titled Microsoft Office 2009 instead of 2010.

Although the Mac version was released in 2010, it was titled Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac.

The next version of Microsoft Office for Windows is supposed to come out some time in 2012, so it will probably arrive late 2012 or early 2013.
