This license, unlike many out there, will allow you to remove Microsoft Office 2007 Professional from one computer and install it on another.

If you work away from the Office, you will find this license gives you extra flexibility. Say, for example, you have to work at home or you have to visit clients. Well, you can install this version of Microsoft Office 2007 Professional on your laptop for visiting clients or your laptop at home, as well as having it installed on your office computer.

Do you sometimes lose things? Well, Microsoft keep the product key (which you need to install the software) secure for you so that if you ever lose it, you can get it back again from their secure website. Of if you lose the software, you can always download it from the Microsoft secure website.

PowerPoint 2007

Outlook

Outlook handles your emails, your appointments, your to-do tasks and all your contacts for you.

Excel

You are probably familiar with Excel, the Microsoft spreadsheet. If you don't need an accounts package such as Sage, you can use Excel to keep your financial records and provide receipts.

But Excel can do a lot more. You can use it to analyse all kinds of numerical information.

A common example is entering your gross revenue and cost of goods you have sold. Excel will work your gross profit. Or use Excel to provide you with statistical graphs of your income and expenses over the past five years so you can see if things are improving or getting worse. And if they are getting worse, to find out what the underlying cause is.

Word

Probably the most famous program in Office 2007 is Word. Use Word for all your letters, memos, reports and any other documents.

The mailmerge feature can be very useful. Say you have a written a letter you want to mail to 50 customers. Mailmerge will create 50 letters based on the letter you wrote and insert the names and addresses. The first one will have the name and address of Mr Joe Armstrong, for example. The second will have that of Mr Peter Atlas. And so on. Print them off, stuff them in windowed envelopes and they are ready to mail.

Or use mailmerge to print off 50 labels with your customer names and addresses on them and stick those on the envelopes for your newsletter.

If you want to send a Word document to someone who has Word 2003 or earlier, it takes just a couple of clicks to save your document in the Word 97 to 2003 format so they can read it.

Finally, if you want to save on expensive letterhead, save your letterhead as a template in Word, and print it as part of the letter. That way you don't have to buy letterheaded paper from your local printers.

Access

Access 2007

Access is the database management system. Many people buy Office Professional because it has Access.

But for many others Access is an enigma. So what is Access?

Have you ever seen an accounts package such as Sage? Well Sage, like Access, is a database management system. It holds all the customer names and addresses, those of suppliers. It holds all sales, the costs, works out the VAT and provides you, by managing your data, with many reports.

The difference between Sage and Access is that Sage is designed to handle financial information. With Access, it is up to you what Access handles. Access is flexible. You could use it, for example, to just hold the birthdays of your friends and family. Or you could use it to handle your financial information.

If you are not sure how to set Access up to do what you want it to do, Microsoft provides you with plenty of examples that allow you to use Access for such activities as Call Tracking, Inventory, Project Management, Task Management, Event Managment, Charitable Contributions, Student Database, Nutrition, Personal Account Ledger, and so on.

Bonus Programs

With our version of Office 2007 Professional you get two bonus programs, InfoPath 2007 and Office Communicator. Normally you would have to buy the more expensive Office 2007 Ultimate to get InfoPath 2007, but we provide it as a bonus. And you can't get Office Communicator in any other Office 2007 program. InfoPath

Use InfoPath 2007 to create forms such as surveys. You can post them on your website or you can email them, or you can send them to your customers or congregation. InfoPath 2007 will then gather the answers together for you and provide you with a report.

Office Communicator does what it says. It allows you to communicate easily with others using a range of different communication options, including instant messaging (IM), voice, and video.

It will work with other Office programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
