Navigating the Tekgia website
The Tekgia website is packed with information. It has been designed so that you should be able to find the information you need quickly and easily. As well as the search facility and the site map (both listed at the top of this page as well as bottom left), the web pages are laid out to quickly give you information. The rest of this page covers this and how to get around the website.

The Breadcrumb Trail

At the top of every page in the website is what is called the breadcrumb trail. It shows you where you are in the website.
The breadcrumb trail also shows you the where you have come from. For example, the picture above shows the trail "Home >> Security Solutions >> Data Backup >> Data Protection Solution." That means I started from the Home page, clicked on Security Solutions and then clicked on Data Backup, etc.
You can click on any of the words in the breadcrumb trail to go back to an earlier step.

The Categories box
The Categories Box is on the left of every web page. It lists the categories of products in this website. By clicking on any of the categories you will be taken to the section that covers that category.
For example, if you click on Backup Software, you will be taken to the Backup Software section. In it you will find products and product information about backup software.

Sub-categories
Some of the categories on the left-hand side have orange arrows next to them. This means that there are further catgories within them.
Place your mouse over one of these categories and a submenu will appear. This submenu displays a list of sub-categories. Click on on one of the sub-categories and you will be taken to the sub-section that covers that category.
For example, in the picture above, when the mouse is placed over the category Managed Services, a small submenu appears listing All in One Package, Content Management, and Email Protection. Any of these sub-categories can now be clicked on.

Sections of the website
The website is divided into sections like a book is divided into chapters.
Like chapters of a book, each section focuses on one subject. For example, the Backup Software section is about Backup Software products and information on backing up.
Many of the web pages in the section will give you background information on the product. This background information can include such matters as how to install it, how to work out what will be the best choice for you, definitions of jargon, and various other things that it may be important to consider before you buy.
Each section is laid out in the same way.
At the top of the page, you will get an summary of the subject of the section.
The summary is followed by "For more information, please select one of the topics below:" and if you click on one of the topics in the orange box you will be taken to a web page on it.
At the bottom of the section, you will find a button with "Back" on it. If you click on it you will be taken to the web page you were previously on.

The Product Info box
When you get to a web page that is on a product or gives you information about that type of product you will normally see on the right-hand side a Product Info box.
The Product Info box contains links to other web pages that are about the product or that type of product or background information.
For example, at the bottom of the Product Info box on the DV Mixer Pro web page are links to web pages giving background information on jargon and video streaming.
At the very bottom of the Product Info box there is the "For more information Contact Us" link. Clicking on it will take you to our Contact Us web page so that if you cannot find what you want to know you can always contact us.

Prices on web pages
Some web pages have prices on them. They are usually presented in a box like the one on the right.
Place in the Quantity box the number of items you want to buy. It usually shows "1" but you can enter any number you wish.
Underneath the Quantity box, you will find links to the Payment Info and Shipping Info web pages. Simply click on one of them to go to that web page. Each of them have Go back links so that you can easily return to the page you were on.
Sometimes you are given a choice of options. These options can include such things as the colour of the product, the type of product and any available discounts (for charities, for example). To select an option that is listed, simply click on it.
Sometimes, you will see a table of price breaks. This shows how the price of the item falls as the quantity being purchased increases. For example, in the price break table in the picture, if you buy one item, you pay £399. If you buy two items, you pay £397 each. If you buy five items the price falls to £394 each.
The shopping basket will work out price breaks, price discounts from options, and price increases from options when you click on the Buy Now button.

The Shopping Basket contents

When you click on the Buy Now button you will be taken to Basket Contents. At the bottom of the page will be instructions on how to use the Update Basket, Continue Shopping and Go to Checkout buttons.
In the Products column will be the name of the item you have bought and any options you have selected. In the picture above, for example, you can see that the Academic rates option has been selected.
In the Total column will be the total cost. This will be based on the number of items you have bought, any price breaks, and any costs or discounts from any options you have chosen. The figure in the Total column does not include shipping (you choose the method of shipping later) and it does not include any VAT (that is added later).

The Shopping Basket box
When you buy something the Shopping Basket box on the top right-hand side will display the quantity, the name of the item and the total cost (excluding shipping and VAT).
If you click on the name of the item in the Shopping Basket you will be taken to the web page that covers that product.
If you click on the small white arrow at the top of the Shopping Bakset box you will be taken to the Basket Contents web page (see picture in the section "The Shopping Basket contents" above).
